Around 300 Sikh protesters broke barricades and chanted slogans
outside the Congress headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday morning,
demanding action against Congress leaders who were involved in the 1984
anti-Sikh riots.
The protests erupted after Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Jan. 27, in his
very first TV interview, admitted that some Congress leaders might have been involved.
The
1984 riots followed the assassination of then prime minister
Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards, and led to thousands of deaths.
